TRENTON – The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission announced that, beginning Monday, December 14, all Vehicle Centers will be open by appointment only. No walk-ins will be allowed at the Vehicle Centers.
“We have made great progress in eliminating backlogged transactions of newly purchased used vehicle registrations, allowing us to move completely to an appointment-only system at the Vehicle Centers, reducing our capacity but increasing convenience for customers,” said Sue Fulton, General Administrator of the Motor Vehicle Commission.
At the Trenton Regional/Vehicle Center, regional services will continue to be available on a walk-in basis, but regular vehicle transactions will not. Regional services include some suspension and restoration services.
MVC License Centers offer walk-in services for out-of-state transfers, in-person renewals and driver knowledge testing. License Centers offer walk-in service for obtaining a new license, or a non-driver ID or permit.
